On West End Avenue, in a landmark Rosario Candela building, GPIDC worked with the owners of this "classic eight" to reconsider the entire floor plan, matching as much of the pre-war architectural detailing as possible, but completely updating the materials and finishes. GPIDC reconfigured the bathrooms and closets, enlarged the kitchen, and installed central air-conditioning throughout the apartment. While collaborating with the owner's interior designer and custom cabinetry company, GPIDC designed and detailed all the cabinetry and trim, as well as selected the materials, hardware, and lighting. The final result is a wonderful collaboration between classic architecture and the owner's more casual contemporary lifestyle. |
